  Pros: - Open floor plan - Safe, quiet neighborhood - Friendly office staff - Prompt response to maintenance requests, most of the time. The AC stopped working in July, and maintenance responded the same day to fix it. This happened on a Sunday. Cons: - Maintenance can be careless with personal belongings. My couch was ruined by paint when they came in to fix stains on the ceiling resulting from the upstairs apartment having a water leak. I specifically asked them not to come in when I was out of town. They came in anyway. They did end up resolving the issue a month later by deducting the cost of the couch from the rent. Water from the shower caused the paint to peel from the ceiling over the bathroom. I notified the office, and the maintenance person left a work order saying they had been in the apartment to address the issue, yet the ceiling looked exactly the same. I asked them to place a quarter round underneath the kitchen bar, since there was a large gap where the wall and bar were supposed to meet. They instead did a very messy job of "filling" it with caulk. I asked for pest control to come in one week, and the man let himself in since I did not come to the door. I was in the shower and did not hear the knocks. He yelled at me from outside the bathroom to let me know he was there and spraying. I would've felt a lot better had he just left once he heard the shower running. Granted, he was with the pest control and not Cloisters, but these are people who are allowed to access your apartment. Advice - Change your locks so you know people cannot come in unexpectedly. Take time off of work to be home when you need someone to service the apartment. Overall, it's a decent place to live.
